ACT VS JWT Clutch and Flywheel Combo
I am in the market for a new Clutch Kit and Flywheel. (Dont really need a new flywheel but **** if I'm in there might as well do it to).
I see great prices on the JWT Package and everyone seems to like this setup, with the execption of the Cement Mixer noise.
What are the pros and cons on both. The ACT Kit is a little more expensive, but it's a huge difference then why?
Some Specs would be nice, but really looking for peoples thoughts on this.
And before some lame a$$ says search I have. Search blows here on my350z.com and I've mentioned it like a gazillion times. LOL

I have the JWT setup and love it. The chatter from the flywheel isn't as bad as you think either. As for the difference between this and the ACT...my understanding is that they are quite similar as far as what they can handle. Clutch feel is a little different and higher up with the ACT. The JWT clutch feels very much like stock and for me engagement is smooth.

search actually works really really well here...you just have to be specific as to what you search for. In fact, it's better than most every other site I have ever been on
That being said, the ACT is good for ~517 ft/lbs of torque at the crank. Pedal effort is mildly more than stock, but very easy to drive in traffic, and it won't make your leg hurt
The thing I lpersonally ike best about the ACT flywheels are that they are a one piece billet chromoly...easy to resurface down the road, without having to worry about unbolting/rebolting in the friction plate. Plus, even in Prolight configuration, its significantly quieter than than the 2 piece flywheels.
Both are good units overall - JWT does not give any info as to torque capacity, but I'd venture to say its similar to the ACT one.
I love the flywheel upgrade on these cars...really makes a significant change in how it revs

Well, if you buy the ACT setup, buy it from Adam (Z1 performance). In all seriousness, he is the best vendor I have come across. I have spent thousands at his shop and it is worth every penny. And no, I am not being paid. He is just worth the great comments.
By the way, I like my JWT clutch. Nice and streetable and appropriate for my N/A setup and constant tracking.

There's a nice price difference between the ACT and the JWT, I'm trying to figure out why, what is the huge difference.
I'm def going with a lighter flywheel so many people rave about it. I can't wait to see what the hype is about.

no one can explain why there is a price difference between 2 products - the ACT uses all made in house pieces - from the pressure plate, to disk. None of them are OEM. Not sure who makes the JWT clutch setup. I know the JWT flywheel is the same as a Fidanza

Lets not forget that the JWT flywheel fits both Z33 and Z32TT clutches. One reason I went with it....I put an ACT Z32TT clutch on it. The Z32TT ACT clutch is slightly bigger than the Z33 clutch. Possibly holding a few more ponies as well.
you might also want to check out UR's flywheel and clutch combos...I have theirs and love it. (It's a bit grabby, but is wonderful to drive while not in traffic)

I have always been happy with ACT products and buy them for all my cars. 1 piece chromoly
. Sorry I can't speak from a comparison standpoint. I'm sure you'll be happy with either.
