Default Oil

I just read in another thread where it says the Z only needs 5 quarts when changing the oil. Is it 5 or 6?

It depends. Your blinker fluid often needs to be filled so add a quart to the total if you need to do that. In addition, if your muffler bearings need packing and lubing, add about a half quart for that job.

Read this sticky, there is more info than you need on oil and what weights and brands are performing the best in the VQ35:
https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-drivetrain/258663-vq-oil-analysis-and-info.html

As far as oil psi goes, that's going to vary with oil weight and temperature. I usually sit at 60psi right after cold start-up @ idle, and just under 30 psi when the oil is warm @ idle.

Vaseline-0w30 also works well if you're in a bind for something slippery. Lol!

If this is true, then you are putting in less than 4 quarts. Last time i checked there were 4 quarts to a gallon. You may want to add some oil! Just lookin' out!
