why would you even expect a N/A 3.5 liter V6 to be anywhere near the performance of any supercharged performance V8 engine? let alone a Z06 Vette. Jackass....... Accept the car for what it is and you'll love it

Thats odd, at 65 I get about 32 or 33MPG.
I dunno, I don't exactly feel comparing a used car with xxxxx miles is worth comparing to a brand new car. You could easily say you can get a 350Z in the teens.... why would you compare price of a new car with a used car?

I get about 26 mpg on the highway (pump tested, not the mpg indicator)
IIRC, the Z's time at the Ring was faster than a C5 Vette hehe.
:shrugs:
I had more fun in my Z than driving/riding in a C5 so I guess IMO, it wouldn't be a better bang for the buck car. If we're talking new for both cars, then its an obvious winner.

Meh, the vette has a LS1... thats the only thing about that car that I consider a beast.

Nurburgring times:
c6 z06: 7:42
c5 z06: 7:56
c6 z51: 7:59
350z (6mt track): 8:26
c5 auto non z51 (turd): 8:40
Trying to find a good source for a z51 c5, it should just be a tad slower than the c5 z06 though.
I'm not a 350z hater so I'm not sure why everyone is being so critical. I love my z, and it is a good entry level sports car, but I think there are better bang/buck sports cars out there, mainly the corvette. There's something to be said for a car that can put down 500 rwhp reliably for the price of a greddy tt kit for our cars. Plus I'm a sucker for a targa top.

Hell you want to talk about used cars, I could buy a 240 and kill a C5 in every aspect if I wanted to. Under 30k NEW, the C6 does not fit the description of best bang for the buck car. I've never done a best bang for the buck with used cars because hell... realistically anything used can be bang for the buck.
The LS1 may get better gas mileage on the interstate... but not in the city. I suppose next thing you'll say its rated at 17 city, but I get 23 when I drive in the city. My buddy has an 04 GTO and complains about the gas mileage all the time but I'm sure its a lot different.
