Default What Those A 350z Owner Wants?

Hi, my name is Marcos Acosta From Acosta Racing. I have been helping out matt with his import life 350z. I'm intrested to know what those every one want right now, for there 350z. A product that has not been made yet. We have already done a custom Header back Y pipe w/ a high flow cat, And we are creating for matt a custom twin turbo setup. But what else are the 350z owner hoping for,, give me some ideas,,, Piston, Rods, Cams, Valve spring, Turbos, Ecu, Etc etc,, Let me know what you would like to see in the market. thank you.

P.s. this will help choose what product we might invest in creating

Id like lots of stuff if I had money. Id bet an internals kit to prep an engine for extra boost would go over pretty big.

I would LOVE to see some ball bearing twin turbos with a front mounted intercooler. I seen Matt's car in person when it was getting ready for the show. Damn nice car. I would also love to see some cams. Also like to see dyno results.

Well, the cams and piston are almost done, most likely in another two or three weeks, we just need to test them out first

Thumbs up

I would agree on posting dyno sheets. Many people would like to see gains before putting out their money.

The twin turbo setup is too expensive right now, Unless you can get at least more than 10 people to buy it, first shot, for the following reason.

1. you will need to use a ECU ( non factory)
------reason why, well, the 350z is non turbo and it comes with a mass Air flow. For turbo you will want a MAP sensor.

2. Compression on this motor is too high for anything above 5 PSI of boost

3. You will need head work. ( springs, valve, retainers)
------head was not design for Turbo.

4. You only have space to use 2 Turbos, almost like the 300zx

5. Fuel rails need to be change & so those the injectors
-----To small for turbos.

6. And extra Fuel pump or an Upgrade fuel pump.

7. Billet intake manifold or a Billet Throttle Body,
------350z comes with an electronic one, which would need to be change, in order to work with a non factory ECU.

8. Motor would not handle no more and 500 RWHP with out getting sleeve

And my friends that's y is soo expensive. we are making one for Matts car, but matt is goin all out with it, and we are est. 800 to 1000 hp to the wheels.

Hey Marcos!

Gracias!

Hey Marcos,

I hear you're in Wallington... I lived in Garfield for 5 years, now in Paramus.

Anyway, I think everyone here is craving a functional ECU, along with other mods like cams, pulleys, etc. But I'd say one of the top items on the list is a good ECU that unleashes some power. Probably #1 on the list, next to a good turbo/SC setup.

I'm curious, what do you guys charge for installation of things like exhaust (Injen for example), or CAI, or pulleys, or headers... since you're so close to me and I may be getting those items, I wonder if you could give me a good price for installing my future modifications.

Thanks,

-slay

I know I for one REALLY want to see a tranmission stabilization bar under car. I find there is a great amount of shifter movement under different rates of engine compression that could be cured with a a Driveline Stabilizer.

I had some ideas on it, but I have enough trouble fabricating lies. If you'd like my input, Matt knows how to get in touch with me.

Let me turn the question around to you and more experienced people. I want to upgrade my motor from 287hp to 400-425hp at the crank. I am hoping to retain reliability, durability, and (wishful thinking) keep the warranty if possible. That is the goal, now, can anyone explain the best way to do that?

Thanks, Jeff

It's goin to be tough to accomplish any horsepower reading in the 400 with out loosing your warranty. it's goin to be hard, to bring the horse power in the engine, with out doing dramatically engine work, Exp, Rods, Pistons, cam gear, cam shaft, valve spring, Up stroking, Port Polishing head, Billet intake manifold, Headers, ECU, Cold air, Exhaust system. and if that dont work, there is always the nice Laughing gas (NOS, NX, ZEX) but hey anything is Possible

Let's discuss that nasty word for a moment... warranty (wahr - an - tee): your powertrain warranty is very subjective. Subjective to the dealership to which you bring your car. There are dealers out there who want to do the work, and want to fix your car because they want to keep you happy, get paid by NoA and stand behind their product. Then there are dealers that will deny a warranty claim (read: DENY, not VOID. A dealer cannot VOID your warranty. Only an FOP rep can do that.) for having an air filter installed.

If performance and modding is your fancy, don't think about the warranty. Make nice nice with your service advisor, slip him an early xmas persent and keep your fingers crossed.

Hi Marcos,

I'm interested in upgrading the internals for either a Supercharger or single turbo mod.

I guess i'm in the same boat as anyone else who doesn't give a toss about warranty. We'll need to change rods, camshaft, valve springs, pistons should be fine for 450rwhp. Other things like exhaust, intake manifold, ecu depend on what road we take

My target isn't super high so i'm wondering if it can't be reached with just NA mods? That would make things much much cheaper.

Well i can get you either High Compression Piston for NA or Low compression piston for turbo, nos or supercharger. We can also custom make anything else in the engine. We do offer a cnc head port service, with flow match machines, which would help you NA guys. We are also creating a billet intake manifold for the 350Z that will give both the turbo's guy and the NA guys an extra Push in HP

I am also interested in an ECU that can take advantage of bolt-on mods as well. Willing to buy right away.
