Default Why isn't this Valve Body working?

I recently purchased a FP Valve body upgrade from a member on this board from an 05 fx35. My car is also an 05 and when the valve body went in the car would crank and go into gear but it wouldn't do anything other than just idle (pushing gas didn't do anything). The original post said that the valve body was compatible with the Z/G from that year and I believe the tranny code is the same as well RE5R05A. So why wouldn't this be working?

EDIT: This is the original for sale thread - https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=273866

couple things I can think of.

#1 fluid level
#2 plug inside the pan isn't plugged in.
#3 the gear selector on the VB isn't put back together correctly.

This type of issue is one good reason to purchase from a vendor. You should check with Sharif if the person who originally purchased the valve body had trouble with it. He would probably know. He can also give you the inside scoop on options for your tranny.

If its the same year VB, it should work. We had a similar issue a while back with an 05 G35 coupe, when we did a VB sway, something happened in the VB wouldnt work, and showed the same symptoms.

Can you try putting your stock VB in the car, and see if that works?

Thanks for the help Sharif. The stock vb went back in and was fine. I'm just gonna have to bight the bullet and be without my car for a few weeks and do the sgp. Anyone know what the total turn around time on that job is?

Oh yeah I'm officially calling out Mardigrasmax for selling me a part that he knew didn't work

oh ok well i looked on sgp's site more closely and saw that it takes 4-10 days for them to do the upgrade depending on availability of parts so i'm guessing i'll be down for two weeks or so

TCM is part of the 05 valve body. You probably need a Consult-II or something to get the ECU to talk to the new TCM. Right now, it could think there is a security issue since the TCM it was synced to is missing.

Get a scan tool, see if you're throwing DTC P0700 or any other transmission codes.

There is a procedure for installing a new TCM in the service manual.

Good thought helldorado.

I talked to sharif about it and this is the reason he temporarily stopped production of these. He said he had the exact same issue on an 05 that he did. So I'm just gonna go ahead and cut it as a loss

so wat was the problem? the +05 VB arent interchangeble with other trannys except it's orginal tranny due to the TCM? So if u sent your own VB to get it done it shouldnt be an issue, correct?
