nice jonny... nope - parts didn't come in. They do get shipments on Sat though so I'm hoping... Your project is probably why Howard told me if I get the FD tomorrow they can't do it till Tues or Wed It's looking like we might literally gave our cars ready at the same time... by the time mine is installed you will have received your rebuilt pumpkin and on the road. I'm hoping early to mid next week for me. My car would be done by now if it wasn't for a questionable situation with the gears that were offered to me.

It’s kinda cool that TS will have just completed one when they get mine… either they will breeze through my install because they just did one – or be sick of FD & Quaife when mine comes in

Sorry bout the wait OC. If anything, You'll probably benefit from having your rebuild done right after mine, if there happen to be any snags/issues during my rebuild since our orders are essentially the same.

Also, due to a shipping snafu, I won't have the silkoline til mid next week--which means I probably won't be on the road until mid next week. There's always bumps in the road--but I have a feeling it will all be worth it

I'm expecting hiccups... however TS has done this before... that's why I'm using them. They have re-flashed my ECU twice and checked a/f and HFS an additional time. Good people and I trust their work... if there is a shop that can do it with minimal or no probs, they are it. Yoshi races drift… one of the only females (the only one in the area that I know of)… Tadashi is a good guy… Howard is always tweaking cars… they are always very helpful, very friendly and very accommodating. I think we’ll both be okay.

Bring your car out here next time... I'll buy you lunch and take you to our sh!tty tracks

Glad to hear ur gears Came in oc. Tsquare should at the most take a day and a half to do the work as was the case with Andy's rebuild and mine, which Imo is excellent turnaround time.

Tsquare called me this morning and told me everything was done, packed and ready to ship out. My rebuilt pumpkin has been sent overnight so my dealer should get it tomorrow and hopefully I'll be on the road tomorrow night.

I'll be sure to post my impressions. I'm looking forward to you getting the rebuild done so we can compare notes

right on! I'm concerned about the day and a half deal though... Howard is telling me drop car in the morning pick it up in the afternoon... I worked nearby so it's convenient, but it won’t be so convenient if I have no way home... I guess I better give them a call... or give the GF heads up that she might need to pick me up.

I also am crossing my fingers on the install. The dealer will get my pumpkin tomorrow, so it will not be on my car until then--all the tech has to do is put back the pumpkin on the car--so I'm hoping for a clean install w/ no associated gear whine or other signs of an improper rebuild--I have confidence in Tsquare tho

you guys ganna drive it hard or take it easy for a few hundred miles? When we got the 4.10 installed on the Mustang, it was recomended that we drove about 1000 miles to groove in the ring and pinion (but of course, we didn't last 50 miles without opening her up.)

That’s a question I've had... I was going to asked Howard at TS tomorrow about that... I asked AutoTech (Quaife America) about break-in for the ATB diff… they said none needed. I literally asked “so I can drive the hell out of it as soon as it’s installed?” – response: “yes sir”. I’ll find out about the ring & pinion break in tomorrow.

Good luck jonnylaw - I look forward to comparing notes... I'm excited but nervous (never had this kind of apprehension from a mod)... As previously projected it looks likeboth our cars will be on the road about the same time.

already a concern... The car is at TS and they asked if I got a crush washer... initially it was "suggested" that the ring gear bolt and pinion bearing crush washer be replaced... however, I talked to a couple of people and was told normally you can re-use existing. Like an idiot, I didn't order either of them and now TS is making me a little apprehensive about not having the crush washer.

Howard said it possibly that the existing can be re-used, but won't know until it's installed...

Does anyone know the likelihood of problems by re-using the existing? I talked to one of my shop guys at work and he implied it would be better to use a new one.

Install is barely starting and I'm already having issues

Advice/suggestions appreciated

Because you're going from the 3.357 ring/pinon to the 3.692, I would've suggested a total internal rebuild. That's how I did it when I went from the 3.357 to the 3.917. When you're placing the ring, pinion and differential, you're essentially replacing every primary component.

The FSM advises against re-using seals and washers.

I know this is not much helpful because it is a different car [but this is the only experience i have with these types of mods,] but when we swapped our 5AT Mustang's FD with a 4.10, the mechanic was able to reuse all of the old parts except for (of course) the ring/pinion. The car works great (aside from some barely noticeable gear whine when making a sharp left turn and accelerating) so far. I would assume that the rear ends are not that different.

Good news bro. Better safe than sorry. I replaced all washers and seals btw. My dealership is putting my pumpkin back on now. I'm hoping for the best!

--pumpkin is installed, but tech is test driving it, and as service dept. is about to close, I may have to wait until tomorrow morning.
