I think my friend burned out my clutch
#23
Slipping the clutch will wear out the clutch.....but what is much worse is that it will create hot-spots or burn spots on your flywheel and pressure plate. The hot-spots are areas where the metal got so hot that it looks burnt. The burnt areas significantly affect the ability of the clutch or friction disk to grab.
The clutch is cheap compared to the cost to replace the flywheel and pressure plate.

Thanks for all of the help guys. The new clutch and flywheel are being installed now for $375-400. I thought that was a bit high but i know the guy will do a decent job becuase he works on some pretty high end cars.

The verdict is that my clutch was fine and there was really no reason to replace it at all... that being said, I am very glad i did because the car feels a lot stronger and revs quicker. And install was $400.
