06 Tranny Whine in 6th @ 80MPH
I have noticed lately during my commute that my tranny whines around 80mph only when I apply a load (hitting the gas, even just lightly). Also I have noticed that my floorboard get pretty warm, almost hot on the drivers side. I am new to the Z and all of this is new to me. Is this normal. its getting annoying. Thanks in advance!
What's not cool (besides the transmission tunnel)?
All transmissions and/or rear-ends have a whine at some speed.
There's not a lot of insulation on the floorboard therefore it gets hot. Lot's of cooling insulation means more weight.

Ill just deal with it. I didnt expect it though. Coming from a Mustang, and Cobra I never experienced heat or a whine like that. None of my buddies Z have that issue. Alwell, thanks for the input though. I appreciate it.
It's probably worse on some cars than others. Every Z I've owned had a whine, always at a particular speed. I've taken a couple of long road trips in the 350 and noticed the same thing at just about 80mph.

mine has somewhat of a whine around 80 also. I think that is normal.
The cabin heat is normal, even know i've heard more complaints about the floor board on the '07's directly above the cats heating up more than previous years. Either way you look at though, both are normal, enjoy!
