Sick Of Overheating!

How can we check if it's really the headgasket leaking, will there be a white smoke or white stuff on the dip stick for sure? I didn't have white smoke but i constantly found air bubbles in the cooling system (could hear the bubbles during cold startup). Also tried bleeding it from the bleeder screw a few times but the bubbles come back all the time (or it didn't even come out)

Well said!!! I have heard of people showing signs of a blown headgasket, but were unable to diagnose until a leakdown test was performed...Though I hope this isn't the case for you, it wouldn't hurt to check

Basically it fits on the radiator just like a radiator cap and then you just pump it up to what ever pressure you're system is supposed to run at, let's say 12 psi. Once at pressure just watch the gauge for a pressure drop.

Hey guys, sorry its been awhile. Ok sooo the latest is this. I know for a fact I bleed the system perfectly, and its still doing it. Im going to get that pressure tester and try it out. Deep down I feel its the headgasket.

No forced induction. But there is some black junk in the overflow tank.

im having a similar problem.. my car is overheating untill when i drive it.. it is not producing hot air it can only produce cold air.. and ive tried bleeding it.. when you bleed it do u leave the radiator cap on or off??

Normally one uses Consult or other software to watch the coolant temperature sensor to ecu [what ecu says coolant is vs the inaccurate inside gauge].
You can see the progression of the thermostat opening if you watch carefully around the 170F start to 194-200F fully open position.
Use an IR temperature gun to measure the temp in upper hose.

4.Air in the system( back pressure)
5.A blockage somewhere
6.Bad water pump

Do what I have done in the past on systems you have to burp the air from. Take out your thermastat, drill about a 1/4 hole in it, replace it back in the car and fill it up, then burp it. You will be suprised on how hard it is to get air pockets out. A lot of toyota's and honda's I have messed with. Always having a hard time with air, so i started drilling the holes. Try that and see what that does for ya. Or just take the thermostat out and put it back together and see if you still overheat.
