Default Popping (like backfire)

I just recently got the jic y-pipe and now im running testpipes jic y-pipe and topspeed pro-1 y-pipe back exhaust. I was having a check engine light issue and it was my "air/fuel metering system" basically an o2 sensor or w/e. code was p1283 i think but anyways, i just got it fixed and i noticed this poping noise. Now i had it very minorly before the fix, the car would sometimes pop like a machine gun or something when i would start it up after it was out in the sun or w/e i dont really kno why but not much. these pops you could feel from inside the car. it felt like little explosions right by the testpipes/y-pipe. after i got my o2 sensors replaced, the car pops alot. When i start it up its pops, then when i start to drive, it will poppopopop, pause for alittle, then pop again when i throttle it up, then after alittle it will stop untill i turn it off for a while and then start it back up. Do you guys think it is maybe that im running really rich? or something else? I have intake, 5/16th spacer, and testpipes, y-pipe, and y-back exhaust as far as mods go. Any input as to whether this is a big problem or nothing to worry about would be great. Also, i live in florida and its hot and humid here so idk if that has anything to do with it.



-PS- Im at work typing fast on a customers laptop (i hate laptops) so sorry if my grammer is terrible, i just cant type on these things to save my life, and i work at a computer repair store lol sad i kno.

Can anyone provide some insight to this please. I really wanna know if this is anything to worry about.

With all those bolt-ons I doubt that you are running rich. Go to a Dyno to see your A/F or buy a wideband gauge. You probably need some form of tune.

well could the poping be a result of running lean?

Maybe. Without an wideband A/F its hard to say. Are you sure the test pipes are not rubbing against anything. Who fixed the CEL and what did they say caused it?

The dealership fixed it and they didnt say what caused it, they just said it was the "air/fuel metering system" basically one of my o2 sensors got messed up. I think it was the sensor on the manifold, not on the TPs

yes,you could also have an exaust leak before the 02 sensor diluting the mixture ,that would set a code and cause a pop,an inedpendant 02 senor would go a long way to understanding whats going on besides they are nice to have for future tuning.

So if i got lets say, the AEM Wideband gauge, where would i install the o2 sensor? And do you guys know roughly how much a shop would charge for installing it?
