Need Opinion - Who has swapped pumpkin?
Hey guys, I have an 06 auto. i was thinking about the pumpkin swap and am not sure how this swap would affect the engine. I know i have a 3.3Fd right now and am thinking of swaping it for a 3.5Fd. will i have engine issues like if im on the parkway, will i be crusing at 80mph at 4000rpms? Not sure how this whole thing works...so all you people who have swapped it out, Autos or manuals, how do you like it? ne problems? thanks for you inputs...
Love it. Your cruising RPMs will go up about 300-400 (I think) but nothing noticeable. Your MPG will decrease about 1 MPG. That's about it. Oh yeah, your cruise control may or may not continue to function properly. Mine will cut out if I go over 75 mph.
It's the best, current, NA mod IMO.
Although, the entire process took forever. The Central 20 gears were on backorder for 5 months and then you have to find another local members manual pumpkin (seeing you are auto) and THEN find a gear specialist. The results are more than worth the effort in the end but be sure to know that this whole process does not happen overnight.
On a side-note the outcomes of the cruise control and MPG vary. In my case, I dropped roughly 3 mpg and my cruise-control does not work.

Get a manual pumpkin out of a junkyard or from a place called turbo toys in flordia. Swap it out yourself its easy. I put a LSD one in my base that i bought in a junkyard for 300$ shipped.
