think of it this way ima try to make a picture for ppl..

k.... well 5th gears just ends..
right when would shift into 6 with 4.08 gears say bout 140ish.
will the sixth gear drop into the Z powerband (mrev/spacer more like)
and keep pulling..
i've raced a mach 1 with 4.10 gears and he had me about 1-3 cars depending on how i drive, and about 135ish i slowly gain and then pulled by him because of his gears..
my question is: knowing that it will drop the rpm when shifting into 6th, will it continue to pull hard and strong givin that the powerband is where the 6th gear drops in...

you really need to re-read this entire thread, because you're confusing yourself (and everyone else reading this )
as I've mentioned, it will accelerate 14% faster in every gear than it does with the stock ring and pinion
you love the top end of a Z? You must be driving a different car than any 06 Z I've ever been in...top end is not their strong suit, mid range is. The top end of a nearly stock Z is nothing impressive. The top end of a built Z is a totally different story

this is now the 3rd or 4th time I've said this
the 4.083 final drive is 14% shorter than stock. As such, it will accelerate 14% quicker in EVERY gear, vs stock. It will also have a top speed 14% LOWER than stock, in every gear, and overall. I can't make it any clearer than that sorry

but if its 14% shorter like u say. than
6th will go therw the gear faster..
but slow down near the last rpm because its gear is shorter, and also the powerband dies down saldly..
have u actually tested this or are u just going by numbers and facts..
easier said ya kno.

this tells me nothing,,
i want knowledge of actually driving ..
no one can tell me unless they know..
say 06 4.o8 gears with a flash so it goes past 160, will
it pull harder,,,,,,,
past 140 and up or will i die.. its easy to say it will, than knowing
