^ depends on what your wanting to do with an aftermarket nismo lsd.....(ie, not a diff out of a nismo 350z, as thats just simply a vlsd as all others, minus base)?
track? daily etc??
I have Nismo LSD and its loud, clunky, pops, etc...but its on point and hands down a great clutch lsd diff.....
btw.......where did you find a nismo lsd for sale??

- im going to be using it mostly has a daily, but i will take it to the drag strip sometimes. i wanna get a good performance lsd. i was looking at the nismo because it comes with new outshafts. can my stock ones still be used with many of the other aftermarket lsd out there.

Did the gearing change affect your speedo if so what did you do to fix it? I'm getting my diff and fd installed now and was curious how it effects your wheel speed sensors

What did you guys do for the break in period with the new gears, or did you do one at all? The mechanic that installed mine told me to drive only for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, then park it and let it cool, and then repeat the process. He said to do it for a good 100-200 miles.
I only did it for about 50 miles, then change the fluid. I had to drive from WA to CA, and then to TX in a couple days. So far so good but I was afraid I'm pushing it, driving so far with new gears.

^ Ok, great. Ya, I did some research and turns out its a big debate. Some people say you need to break them in, others say none needed. Just wanted to see if you guys did it or not.
I changed the fluid before I left on my trip. There were quite a bit a metal shavings on the plug, which was expected. I'm going to change the fluid again once I reach TX on tues.

with LSD does anyone have wheel chattering/hopping when making a slow turn. i know with a detroit locker you get nothing but wheel hop when turning slow but its also a true pos-track. im just trying to compare the two to figure out what im going expect from a lsd upgrade.

any clutch type diff will exhibit some level of this to some degree. How much depends on how it's setup (if adjustable), the fluid used
Quaife exhibits none of this, as it is helical (gear) based, not clutch based

4.083 is 15.4% shorter
vs
4.111 is 16.2% shorter than original 3.538 drive. Slight increase would make a diference in 1/4's but would depend much on the driver's ability to hit 3rd gear right. I don't think you would get a chance to shift to 5th in a 1/4 but not sure in practice.
The 370z is listed as 3.692 for the MT and 3.357 for the AT models. Wonder if anyone has changed the FD in this car(s) yet?
