Default new transmission installed... clutch feels very different

Hey everyone, I just had my tranny replaced under warranty at 31K miles on my 04 350z. The thing is that the clutch feels very different (much better actually), it grabs quicker and is much more soft. The dealer told me that the clutch plate is very worn and needs to be replaced soon, but I think maybe the tranny shipped with a new clutch as some do and he is bull****ting me. I was stupid for not asking about whether a clutch came with it before the work was done, but if I ask them now of course they are going to say no. Has anybody else out there experienced this change in their clutch after getting a new tranny installed? Did it come with/without a clutch?

Hey i just got my tranny changed yesterday too, He explained there have been 9 versions of the tranny since the first 350z. And they kept changing because they didn't know what was causing the problems. The last version came with a new clutch but the newest one doesn't. I switched from an 03 tranny so it felt like stepping on air when i first started up my car.

My clutch got noticeably softer after changing the transmission as well. It sucks, lost the sporty feel. I'm guessing they might have done something to the pressure plate since that's what's normally factors for stiffness/softness of the clutch.

same here, just got a new tranny and my car feels slower thought it actually is faster. the gears are longer on the new trannys, on my 03 tranny i shifted very quickly, now i can stay on gears longer.

its softer because of the control arm on the pedal...it has a new pedal assembly...but the clutch itself is stronger by 150 kg
