What Version ECU do you have?
My Z is an Australian spec touring 6sp.
MY ECU code is CD410 G.
Our cars have been downgraded in performance to the USA models due to our lower octane fuel which is generally available. Standard premium fuel in OZ is around 88-89 octane.
We can get 91.5 octane fuel, and I am therefore very interested in the ECU upgrade that you have been promoting as it will in effect give me two upgrades. One to the standard US version, plus the extra power that is being offered with the ECU upgrade to the US version.
Do you think that our ECU version will be compatible with the upgrade?

Here in the States, Octane rating for premium grade gas can very.
In California, the current Premium grade is 91 octane (used to be 92)..where as in the East Coast, there are often 94 octane pump gas in addition to premium 92 octane. There is an Unical gas station in my area that sells NASCAR 100 Octane gas (for $5 a gallon)

Your Australian spec Z has most certainly not been down speced for Oz. A quick cross referance with KW to HP might indicate that there is a power loss but a check of all the relavent part #,s between US, Jap & Aus cars show that they all the same
If you are using a lower octane fuel the Knock sensor will readjust the ECU to compensate

Why are our performance figures down compared to the US?
We are talking mid 5's to almost mid 6's for 0 - 100k's. The US spec for premium fuel is 91 Octane. In Australia it's about 88. It would appear that the ECU has been adjusted for this. According to Chebosto on this thread, the ECU version can be determined from the part number on the electrical harness. The US part numbers are CD0000. Mine (I presume all Australian models) is CD410G, which seems to indicate different ECU programming.
Of course I can't be certain, but it seems to me that this is the problem.
I am very interested in the TechnoSquare updated ECU, plus a few other mods, such as intake, plenum and exhaust. None of these mods is particularly "radical" and if one believes all that has been posted on this board, at least an extra 30kw seems possible, particularly for an Australian spec car.

Malcom your kidding, 30kw is 40 BHB
The Z has aready got the highest HP & torque figures of any 3 to 4 litre NA production motor with the exception of the M3 motor which has higher HP but has to rev to over 8000rpm to get that HP.
If you think that Nissan has 30kw locked away in the ECU good luck.
Dont beleive me, then check out www.mines-wave.com.
With cams, HC pistons, exhaust & reflashed ECU the get just over 40bhp.
I to am very interested in the Technosquare mod & beleive they are doing a very profesional job with no wild claims & modest gains will be acheived.
The high octane unleaded,s available here in Oz are all 98 ron which is about 92 octane not 88.
With regard to the CD # on the harness this is only a harness part # & as our cars are RHD & the battery, odometer, ext are on the other side they will be different.
