I ended up spending $1k on exhaust and testpipes alone . You could do a cheap knockoff Xo2 exhaust , or some top speed maybe, spacer, and testpipes for 1k very very tightly. But yeah, we need to know the year of your car before we can recommend anything .

I went with the major power adders. Test pipes/plenum spacer. Other than that, the only way to go is force induction. Also, good tires are nice to have as well.

Lightened crank pulley, test pipes, pop-charger, and plenum spacer should come in at under a grand.

Downpayment for a used Supercharger

It should get you a third of the way there.
Go to the classifieds here and see what members have to offer.

Save it and go FI, there really isnt alot worth buying for a grand or under besides a motordyne spacer and maybe a popcharger.

ATI ProCharger $2700 (Clicky)

Yes, seriously, just go FI.
Too many folks have regretted spending all this $$ on NA mods and "Bolt-Ons" when they could have gone FI for the same amount of money and fuss.

This is what I did for my first mods:

Injen CAI ~230 (Christmas present 06)

Month of Aug:
Megan Headers ~130 (new off Ebay, installed myself)
TurboXS Test Pipes ~125 (vendor on here)
1/2" Motordyne Spacer ~230 (vendor on here)
Iso-thermal upgrade ~50 (Motordyne website)
Polished MREV2 ~300 (RebelinRI private sale, last of his polished plenums)

Sept mods:
UpRev's Osiris ~700 (www.uprev.com)
XO2 Exhaust ~600 (vendor on here)

Have a few more things up my sleeve but those are what I would start with.
