now guys if the man says its been done , lets not all jump his case. Would the kind man like to show proof. You would be the highest NA Z in the USA if you can prove it. So instead on bashing let him prove it first. DO you have a website with it and, is there more information on the engine many have already stroked and put cams and havent come up with ur power levels. Can you shed some insight. sir

stock = 225-240 whp
stock + all bolt ons +tune = 260-270 whp
Stock + all bot ons + cams + tune = 270-290 whp, depending on how big a cam.
stock + all bot ons + cams + headwork + internals + tune = 300-305 whp.
That's it.. I have NOT seen any proof of any car making more than 305 WHP on a VQ35DE, on pump gas on a no bs dynojet.

The worst part about this thread, like so many others on this board, is that the orginal poster's question was never answered.
I don't know if it really can be answered at this point in time, but I do know Brett@TPS came no where near answering it.
what's the most you can squeeze out of the motor with 10K budget

yep
there really is no way to fully answer the question as there is a range of parts you could use for a full out NA build. For some suggestions, click my signature. By the time its said and done with all my drivetrain mods (clutch/gears/diff), motor build (including machining costs, etc), you would be around $10k, with some money maybe left over even. I didn't obviously pay for labor costs, so factor that into your equation

If I had to do it all over again, I'd do a set up my car like this for a street car.
Parts Labor Total
intake JWT 100 0 100
plenum spacer Motordyne 200 0 200
Headers Crawford 1000 500 1500
test pipes Any 175 50 225
exhaust Nismo 1000 100 1100
Cams Tomei 272 1200 2400
valvetrain+Ti retainers Fererra 1500 0 (included in cams) 1500
engine mgmt/tune UTEC 800 400 1200
So total - $8,825 for power mods.
Add a 3.91 final drive - central 20 for $500 + $300 for labor and you have a nice little track car.
I think this would result in a no bs 280/90 whp...So say baseline dyno is 230, you gained 60 hp, which is $147 whp per dollar, not exactly cheap but reliable.

Why post claims or "cars you know of" without having something to substantiate it? What is the point? It is the very definition of trolling

The only way to make over 400 horsepower on the engine is to change both upper and lower pieces. Cam design is also critical to maximizing power gains, and it seems like the majority of profiles are not that aggressive in design. So the "laundry list" looks like this for 400+ : Built short block with 11:1+ comp, new upper and lower manifolds, cams with 12mm+lift, retainers, springs, valves, ported and polished heads, header, exhaust, intake, injectors, fuel pump, ecu management. Higher compression is needed for 495, with 13mm+ lift, ITB's and race gas and a few other pieces to run at 8500rpm. This is not a street motor at this point, but a race engine. $$$$ is needed for any of this N/A work, and most people would be better off just calling the local APS dealer and getting the TT kit.
Crawford Z even with years underneath there belt broke the 300rwhp but it was cost effective to my knowldge with the ITBs. Nor practical. And they been trying to hit that mark for years.
