Red face DO NOT buy a Silver grounding kit if...

"Silver" means a clear sleeve over the wire. Here's mine 7K miles and 4 months after install. I have the rare "****" colored grounding kit. You can clearly see what the heat does to the wiring closest to the engine, while the wires running to the battery still look good. This is by no means a show car so I won't be changing it out, but if you are building a car for shows and what not, keep this in mind.

Is this with any silver plastic, or do you think it was the brand you bought? which brand was yours anyways?

Ricky,

Read his Sig. It was the first DIY kit provided by one of the members on this board.

Yes, and read further, Ricky. I clearly stated that this was CLEAR plastic over the 4 guage wiring. I don't go to Hot Ricer Nights, popping the hood, so it's not a big deal to me.

I wonder if the other colorations will have some color change also.

That's something unexpected, and impossible to have been tested for.

I'll have to check my set.

That's why I installed the black ones. I was pretty sure that would happen with the cool looking ones...

I figured that would happen. I have a solid Silver color kit that I made myself. Its not as bright as the clear one shown here but it won't yellow either.

Looks cool to me... you could say it's hyper-color and score extra points

If that is the color of your urine, I wonder what you've been drinking!

No worries. I'm not bent out of shape by it. Just wanted to warn those that take a lot of pride in the engine bay and dress it up with other accessories. The only time I pop the hood is to check the oil, brake fluid and air filter element.

I was thinking about making a blue set myself, ordering blue wire for $.99 a foot when I ordered my ends, but you may have just sold me on going to Home Depot and getting the heat resistant generic black stuff. I'm also not looking for a fancy underhood experience.

Your could just put a wire loom over the wire on the grounding kit.

Droideka - Did you get that kit from me??? I don’t think so. I have had a Silver kit on my Z for quite a while and they show NO signs of yellowing or burning like yours.

I only switched to a red set recently to do the photo install shoot for my website and because the wires match my Injen.

I dug my old set out of the closet. They were only on for about 6 months though.

I’d like to hear back from some of the people who bought my kit. How are they holding up?

Okay so far. The red matches the Injen very well....

Cheers!

Here is mine.... it has faded a bit. not as yellow as droideka but it might get there in a couple of months. I should've gotten blue or some other color.
