You can accomplish a 3.8L engine by doing two things:

Stock Stroke, but 100mm pistons

Stock Bore, with 87mm stroke.

If you want to use 100mm pistons your engine MUST be sleeved. If you go with a 87mm stroker kit, you can have a 3.8L engine with out sleeves.

The price for a unsleeved 3.8L stroker and sleeved 100mm piston engine are basically the same. But with the 3.8 Stroker engine you get a billet hi-rev crank with high speed oiling technology and better engine cooling.
