Default Need Help!!!!!!!

Put up a post a feew weeks ago about vibration coming thru gear shifter between speeds of 72-80 mph.his viration is not in the steering wheel at all and the car does not have the vibration below or above the implire speeds, just reall a pain because 72-80 is usually my highway speed. Since then my Nissan Dealer,( who has been Great) has done the following: 1: rplaced driveshaft and U joint. 2: replaced Transmission and clutch and shifter linkage.
After all this, I still have the exact same vibration. This vibration, occured with stock wheels and tires and stock shocks and springs and also with my aftermarket set up? Any suggestions???????????

Have they check the balancing on your rear wheels.

Really do not think it is the balance, because the vibration started with the factory wheels in place and then , exactly the same with my new wheels as well. But I guess it couldn t hurt to have wheels balanced again?????

Do you have the hub centric rings in your wheels, I didnt for 6 months and had a little vibe at the same speeds. If you dont have them , pay the $15 and see if it fixes the problem.

Actually when you put my car up on th rack, it dosent move untill you get to that 72 mph, and then you can see the rear end virbrating??????? Have Nissan Special tech coming in to drive my car on Nov 1st, They want me to put stock shocks and wheels back on car, even though we know that is not the problem,I guess I will just to make sure I get best effort to get problem solved.

Ive got the same thing going on. At around 75-80 i feel a pulsating vibration that you can feel shaking the whole car + see and feel in the gear shifter. Ive had an alignment done and had new rear tires put on, and nothing has fixed the problem. The only thing I havent tried is rotating the front tires, I have some feathering issues that I can see.

Have you had your car to dealer? Is it still under warranty. I have replaced wheels, had alignment, replaced shocks, replaced drive shaft, u joint, transmission, clutch. Still same thing you are saying, would love to know what your nissan dealer is telling you, may wanna put our heads together on this?

I had my transmission swapped a long time ago for a gear grind problem, but I'm sorry to say that I cant remember if the vibration was present before the tranny swap. I have adopted a sort of "just live with it attitude". My previous car was a '98 240sx and it vibrated badly on the interstate, so I upgraded wheels and tires, had them balanced, and had alignments done, all of which failed to solve the problem (same course of actions that I have followed with the Z). So, at this point Im just going to ride it out until I trade in for a new Z or whatever my next car might be. I hate spending money on nonperformance related issues only to have them still not be resolved!!
