The 996 C2 could have been a Pre-'02 model. That is the year that Porsche went to the 3.6 liter engine, and opened up the exhaust quite a bit to answer criticism about the car being too quiet. '02 was the first year of the C4S. Before that you could get a C4, which had the same bodywork as the C2. All N/A Carreras have the exact same engine and exhaust. (With the exception of the GT3, of course.)

People always ask me if I have an aftermarket exhaust on mine. It's definitely got a healthy bark to it.

Personally, I think the 350z has a damn good exhaust note stock. It kind of sounds like expensive silk ripping.
I was driving next to a young guy in a sweet new black 996 with Fiske wheels, I rolled down the window, nice to hear the Z with a 996 note in the background--SWEET MUSIC!!!

It is a true dual. Read David Borla's comments in the other thread:

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=30801

And looks-wise, I guess it's a matter of taste. Me, I couldn't ask for more. The stock look and the Borla exhaust note is precisely what I would like. To me, the horseppower gain, if it's true, and the relatively low $ is just gravy.

I was expecting a TRUE dual like this! https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=30471
but maybe I'm partial.

Ive heard the Stillen exhaust and it sounded too much like stock. Didnt like the tips. The Borla is looking good. I just need some more feedback like actually hp gains.

agree 100%, ever since so many civic Dx Automatics have been running COFFEE can exhaust, I cringe at the thought of getting an exhaust that stands out to much.
