Welding spider gears on diff
I tried a few searches for welded diff, welding diff, weld diff, etc... and got nothing so I'm here to ask:
Anyone have any experience welding the stock open diff? I know how to do it (did it in my old 240sx) but I'm curious if this clashes with VDC... or would this not effect VDC?
Also would this override how I can't actually burn out in my car? Or will I still have to pull the relay when I go to the track? Does this have any effect on final drive gears? Like if I was to weld it and put in 408's it would function fine?
I'm still VERY skeptical on this tactic, but I liked the outcome on my 240sx. I have driven a 2way diff and I like that WAY MORE, but I'm not sure how I feel about putting $1400 into a GOOD 2 way diff right now.

I have bigger plans this winter so I'm cutting out the cost of a diff. I do plan on buying one but I think I'm just going to weld this one for the time being.

I hate drive by wire
I'll still have to pull the relay at the track then
