I've been pushing 380+ tq for over 5K miles and my stock clutch is fine. Car has 17K on it. Several hard mountain runs for hours at a time. But I've always been good at not abusing my clutch. I'll probably get something new soon.

Just Be Careful When You Install A New Clutch, Replace The Flywheel To Or Get It Resurfaced Or Your Going To Defeat The Whole Purpose Of Changing Your Clutch. And If Your Throwout Baring Is Fine Dont ***** With It. You Need A Special Tool To Get It Out. And When It Is In . Make Sure Your First 500 Miles Are Smooth Easy Shifts Dont Power Shift.

You can't have the stock flywheel resurfaced anyway. And I would recommend to change out the throwout bearing. Even if you did it yourself, it's nothing to go rent the tool you'll need. You have it all a part, so change it. It doesn't come in the kit for no reason.

GENERALLY THE THROWOUT BEARING WILL STICK SOME TIMES. OR ITS WORN FROM CLUTCH ABUSE. IF YOUR JUST GOING TO A BETTER CLUTCH THEN ITS NOT A BIG DEAL TO KEEP THE OEM BEARING IN THERE. I'VE DONE IT ON A FEW CARS AND I'VE REPLACED IT ON ONE. BUT I NEVER NOTICED A DIFFERENCE. IN EITHER WAY.

WOW! You went all upper case lettering on me. It will be ok. Just chill. But I disagree. Most kits come with a new one, so replace it. It is a wear item as you stated. I wouldn't do a half job on anything.

lol man its all good. i didint even realize that my caps lock was on. but yeah i guess its all dependant on the customer and how lazy one is. but i agree with you replace it if you have tons of miles on it.

by the way why cant you resurface the clutch on the z flywheel. you can do it to the stock mustang gt, you can do it on a evlution lancer too. i've never changed a clutch on a z so i've never even looked at the flywheel. but i guess if i were to buy a clutch i wouldnt even use the stock fly wheel i'd get a flywheel that has the replacable disk insert. like the one fidanza makes. great company by the way.
