Steering Rack Question
Hi,
My mechanic checked out a 2003 350z today...
He found that the rack was leaking and it was loose and would make a noise when you turn the wheel left/right with the car off.
He said the rack would have to be replaced soon..
Does anyone know of any 350z rack issues?
How much will it cost to replace the rack?
Thanks..

83,000 miles.
The seller of the car just got a different mechanic to check the car out, he said it was fine.
I think I'm going to have the car re-checked out by German at GS Motorsports who knows Nissans.
racks can certainly go bad...all depends the conditions which it was subject to
I replaced the rack on my car when we installed the built motor, as it had slop in it, and I didn't feel like taking it apart to rebuild it
