just as the title implies. my buddy has a block that he sorta blew up. but he is assuring me that if we sleeve it it will be ok and can be used for my build. what do some of you guys think...??
id like to use it to save some money but if its going to cause problems then ill just get a new one.

needs more than a sleeve, but anything can be fixed
yeah obviously the outer wall will have to be TIG welded. and obviously im going to need a new piston...but other then that, as far as the block itself is concerned and that inner wall there, i should be good with a sleeve right? as long as i tig weld the outer wall
my budy is chargin 250 for it...how much for yoru block and crank ^
should be a freebee, needs too much work for someone to try and sell...especially a to a friend.it is repairable, but cost of repair exceeds cost of replacement.unless your goal is a sleeved block then it might be worth the time.i've seen keith black blocks sewn back together like a quilt,so this blocks water jacket problem could be fixed.question is do you want to start your project with a damaged block.
Agreed....cooling jacket is toast. You might be able to weld it up but getting a flat surface again that would seal a head gasket will be an issue. Just get a different block. It's not worth the extra time and effort if it does leak after it's repaired.
