Default Base model owners without VLSD, Have you changed your differential fluid?

If so what oil did you use (75w90 gl-5??) and did you feel any difference? At what mileage should it be changed?

If you do change it you will find lots of shavings and black sludge stuck to the magnetic plug. It usually takes 2 or 3 changes to get rid of all the metal in the differential. I would do the change ASAP. I did 3 changes in the first 5000 miles and it has stayed perfect ever since.Synthetic is great for cold climates. I didn't feel any difference in performance though.

I'm not seeing how changing your diff oil will make your car shift better. Now changing your tranny oil out, I would expect better shifting with that.

OP: with an open diff, you're not going to see any difference or performance increase by changing out your diff oil. Just follow the recommended service guidelines for it.
