Turner Nissan does my service and this dealer has some explaining to do now because I believe *you* over them.
No worries "Max". Just do what you need to do for you.

I'm not trying to "make waves" for anyone, I just want to know what's really going on with this ECU.

I understand, this "mark up" was a slight part of the issue. They told me I was the first to buy a DB Blue A5T so they seem to like to play on words.

I think we are on the same page. I got my dealer markup down to 3k. It was worth it to be driving it in 2002 when everyone thought it was a Porsche or Lexus because they hadn't even seen it before.

Bill is the Parts Manager I think the older grey hair guy that got me my one degree cooler hard to find NGK plugs that solved my N20 woes. Plus they got Moose in Finance from JL Sullivan! He's the man. When I saw him there today I knew this dealership was turning around. He sold me 3 cars since 1994 from JLS!!

Now he is at Nissan in Finance.

I think Bill is off on Sunday, this ECU thing makes since though have you checked your plugs? I would, because he mentioned to me a lemon law if Nissan didn't get the American ECU straightened out and they DON'T want that. We are using Japanese ECU's that are causing our cars to run fat due to less emissions in Japan and it could effect your plugs.

So we can hope, so far they have been straight shooters with me, after that A Hole got fired.

I'll give them a second chance. The kit is warrantied and the painting is factory and the rims are off the hook!

My after market ATS rims are for sale in the F/S Section BTW everyone 100 each to readers of this thread hehe

Ask EJ, he went in there and saw the rims in person (lives in Roseville) and they were straight shooters with him too.

Maybe me going by Max everywhere, here, work , track confused him, he seemed geniune and secure and believe me I get paid to spot liars or cheats. He didn't seem to meet that criteria so I am going for the kit and rims. Max is my nickname since boot camp in the early 80's.

I think I heard 995.00 installed for the ECU (Ouch.)

Let's just put it down to miscommunication till at least we all get our parts ya know? Represent professionlism, get better deals etc ya know? He didn't trash talk you or lie.

My dad didn't tell me much but he said, you catch more fly's with sugar and I have found that to be true.

Peas and I'm off to crash!

Any Paint Choppers that can do a D BLue????

That and then the Crawford Plenum and I'm straight pimping...

Doesn't sound rude at all. This was my situation. I did have to pay a mark-up, not 10K, but 5K. When your working out a deal, you have to consider all of your options. If i were to have gone with any other dealership, i know that i would have gotten a horrible interest rate. In addition to the car, i was also given the 75,000 mile extended warranty, and i received a "Smart Card" for services which the car will need, that totals $2500 in discounts. Since buying this car, my FICO score has gone from the mid 600's to 703. If i were to have gone the "credit repair" route, it would have cost me more than the 5K in mark-up.

Those rims are so sweet.......they made me re-consider on my intentions to go with 19's.....i will be getting 18's now, possibly the ones on that car if the price is right, but we'll see.....it's either those or the G-games

I think my dad said you catch more bees with honey or something not flys with sugar, I was tired and stressed.

As for the mark-up, All Nissan Dealers, Florin, Future, and Turner (on Fulton and Arden) had a mark up ranging from 5k to 10k so me getting it for 3k was a good deal.

When I drove the Z I was gonna buy it no matter the price and I wasn't leaving till I had it. D Blue Auto's were no where to be found at the time.

After they are on my car I will, the dealer said only they can get them. We have established the credibility of that lol.

EJ knows the name he saw them closer than I did he lives there, it's 30 minutes from me.. It can't be that top secret as the dealer would imply if they are right on the show room florr for anyone to see.

I thought they were something else but was wrong.

I'll get the name when I turn my car in for all. Coleman or something, a name I have never heard before.

No offence, but I gotta comment...flame me if you want

NEVER trust a dealer to tell you about any performance parts for the Z. They barely know anything about the cars that they sell. Especially a dealer that would mark up a Z by 10K! That is absurd!

As to the ECU....he is full of BS. NISMO is NOT going to have an ECU for US Z's. Got that for a fact from my contact in Nissan USA in charge of NISMO parts. So, unless this dealer is going to make thier own ECU, he is full of crap. He may be talking about a Jet ECU that Stillen has listed on thier web page for $550.00. They have no info on this ECU, and when I was there at Stillen for thier 350Z/G35 bash this weekend, no one there had any info on this item. I will be having my ECU reprogrammed in the near future. There is a group working on this isssue as we speak here in so cal.

As to the body kit, it looks like a pieced together setup of a Stillen or Kaminari front lip, with some one elses side skirts and Stillen rear bumper and someone elses wing. Any dealer can do this, so thier claim for it being "their kit", I would doubt it. Remember, this coming from a dealer marking up cars $10K.

As to the wheels, looks like Volk knock offs to me. Any dealer can buy wheels from a distributor, and put their own part number on them. Again, remember, this info comes from a dealer that you had someone fired over your Z deal.

Sorry to vent, but I have been involved with car dealer aftermarket accessories issues for many years, and I can smell a ripoff/lie from a mile away. However, if you are happy with the way the kit and wheels look, thats great, not knocking you for that.

From now on, take whatever a dealer says to you with a grain of salt, and if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.

Cool

I got my Z at Future Nissan and they deducted the markup right off the bat. You have to let them know right off that you are not going to pay the markup. The sales rep told me that they have to put down $5,000 right up front.

Remember, this coming from a dealer marking up cars $10K.
Remember I only paid 3k not 10k and this was in 2002 when EVERYONE was marking up the car.

Wow, knocked my kit, knocked my rims lol.

Feel better?

It's a Stillen Kit and the rims are nice and I am getting it all for what others have paid for rims and tires alone (installed and painted with the front grille.

I understand your rant about the mark-up but it doesn't effect my decision, I'm going for it on Wednesday and pics WILL follow!

Spoke to the parts manager at Future Nissan today......he says ECM available on the 19th of this month......he implied this was a Nismo deal.......parts department and sales department are 2 different animals........they have no reason to lie, since you've obviously already bought the car......if they do lie, it's out of misinformation, if anything.........either way, in 10 days we'll know what the real deal is.......if it's Jet chip, they can keep it, if it's Nismo, i'm interested......as for the rims, they didn't tell me to keep quiet about it.....the name on the hubs says "Cornell Motorsports".......never heard of 'em, but they look hella good

Hey Max
Am I right? You're switching from 19s to 18s on the wheels.

Max:

Never said I didn't like the wheels or the kit. I was just stating facts. The dealer is just handing you a bunch of BS about the kit and the wheels.

If you like the kit, wheels and the deal, go for it. I am just trying to give you some friendly advice about dealer BS/lies/misinformation.

Elektrik:
I stand by my statement. NISMO will NOT have an ECU available for US 350Z's. I don't care what the parts dept told you...it ain't true!
If it is a Jet ECU, I would really think twice before I invested any money in that product. My money is on an ECU reprogram.

Jet doesn't make any domestic chips anymore that I am aware of. Last time I checked their website it said International only.

I wouldn't buy Jet either. I did find this ECU info at Stillen though

Part Number: JET65005

MSRP: $699.00
Our Price: $524.25

No way Jose! Not me!

The body kit is **all** Stillen, that was my point. You can go to their website and view it.

Rather than argue, here.

http://www.stillen.com/sportscars.asp?cat=3

STILLEN has just released their full body kit for the Nissan 350Z, featuring a front fascia, side rockers and rear valance, creating an aggressive touch with a superior fit and finish for the sports car. The look, feel, fit, and finish are factory quality thanks to the direct molding process STILLEN employs. Molding the urethane directly to the body of a 350Z at our in-house design studio, craftsmen are able to understand the car's contours firsthand enabling them to produce the best urethane products possible. STILLEN has been creating urethane components in this fashion for decades, and the 350Z kit is no exception. Part #1035009 - Front Fascia, #1035012 - Driver Side Rocker, #1035013 - Passenger Side Rocker, #1035018 - Rear Valance.

Let's all chill, I don't want to argue today. Call the dealership like others are doing instead of turning this into a debate thread.

I like the kit, I'm buying it, they mentioned an ECU, EJ just confirmed they will have one. Everything else is simply TBA so can we let it go at that?

I'm leaving for the Memorial.

Peas!

I sort of figured that when Stillen listed the chip as Jet.

I called parts today too. He said he is getting lots of calls for the rims and to be clear, "they are only available to our dealership." They stand by that.

Like I said, the ECU info was correct they (dealerships) just "play with words" as I and others said.

Thanks for the info EJ, Jet never did anything for me as far as power except a CES light
