What Battery To Buy?
I think my battery has finally **** the bed. Looking to get a new battery for my TT Z. I have looked into the optima yellow tops but damn are they expensive. I'm looking to a good battery that is going to last a long time and be reliable. so here are a couple questions....
Is there any suggestions on batteries??
Has anyone had problems with the optima yellow top?
Is the factory battery under warranty? Could i still get a fresh one even with twins?
any info would be great. Thanks!

They are expensive, but very so much worth it. My Dad just put one in his Corvette and very much seems to like it. I've hadn't had a chance to own one for myself. But never heard one thing bad about them. I need to ask him the type of warrenty on them. Or you could always go for one of those racing batteries? This thread is going to make me do some researching on them today.
I love the Optima’s, and I‘ve used them for years in my 4wd vehicles. They are just a great battery for many reasons.
But, I’m still on the original OEM battery in my 2003 Z and the battery is working great. Temperatures frequently go subzero in Frostbite Falls, so the OEM battery must be decent.

I just got a yellow top optima today for Christmas. It's a nice battery. I had one before but gave it away with my old system. Now i have another system is this is teh best battery for the job. It's a deep cycle so it will be like new everytime after you start the car. Only downside is that it's 38 lbs. Trust me, it feels heavy as hell. Stock battery was a good amout lighter.
I was contemplating about going with the Braille CF battery. It's a nice piece and around the same price as my optima. People on the boards said it's more for the person who drives their car daily because it will die if not started for a week. So i had to cross that out of my list.

braille batteries WILL need to be jump started if you let them sit for a couple days or a week or longer. They are very unreliable especially if you need to keep your car in the garage for a week or more in the winter.
optima yellow top FTW...second battery i got and no problem to date. i love it.

I've sworn off Optimas having blown up the last 2 yellow tops I've had, in 2 separate cars (both leaked with just normal use...and the sulfar they emit is absolutely horrendous!).
I have a Braille I got for my Datsun...no idea how it works as I have not used it and the car is not a daily driver so most times it will be disconnected or I will simply get one of the battery tenders for it. The lightweight batteries are great for more track oriented cars IMHO. I am on my 2nd OEM one in the 350Z, and it works flawlessly even with my system

I'm using a optima red top, with no problems. Only thing the posts were on the wrong side but, the battery has side mounts I just bought some screw in posts turn the battery sideways and mounted the posts in the right order.
Great thing about this battery it can be mounted sideways.

stock nissan 72 month with 24 month replacement warranty, can't beat oem. If your looking light weight i have had a odyssey pc680 with auto terminals for 3 1/2 years and if you use the car everyday it worked fine when it was 15 degrees out. If you let it die it will come back to life over and over again.
