if you do decide on the quaife..try calling Project Imports for a quote..they're listed on the Southern California shops thread in the regional section...they're prices should be quite lower than most vendors on here

If money isn't a problem, the most quiet is the quaife or ats carbon. Next i think would be the cusco rs for smoother engagement, then the total clutch types like kaaz, os giken, cusco mz which is a nismo. Some of these companies, i think os giken makes a carbon clutch type now too, but they are pricey. All clutch types make some noise at some point, a clunk, some grinding, grabbing at slow turn corners. After a break in period for the lsd, change out the oil with synthetic and add some lsd friction modifier (you can get it at any auto parts store), it really helps in reducing a lot of the noise, but you'll always have some noise, it's just the way clutch types work.

Cusco, ATS, etc are drop ins for cars wtih factory viscous
Any diff can be installed in any manual trans car - some might need additional parts, some will not

Yeah, I have added to the number of people with noisy LSDs because I have the Nismo. It is quiet to begin with, but quickly can burn the oil. I use Motul 90PA and it makes the diff very quiet. Having a chatter just makes your feet more sensitive to torque application along the drive shaft. The more torque, the more lock-up.
