Its very inconsistant. I noticed it right away because I turned my music down, and held onto the shift ****. I can hear her shaking... Should I just take her in and ask what seems to be the problem?

As far as Roughness, to me its rough because I just like to hear her calm...

The aftermarket parts I have on are just a plenum spacer and injen shortram.

Could be a leak in the plenum gasket causing the idle to fluctuate....

Easy way to check is.. Turn the car on, spray some intake/carb cleaner and ur car will tell uif u have a leak...

+1

Idle should be rough when the car is fully warm at idle if you do have a small leak. When the engine is cold, of course it won't be rough since the idle is at 1.5 rpm.

You actually don't need to but it won't hurt. Driving the car for a month, it should be the same as resetting the ECU. Is your filter dirty?

one of 3 things is wrong. .your sucking in a small amount of air after the air mass. .you've damaged the air mass in some way COLD AIR intake. .perhaps by sucking it water. .and i get this all the time and even happ to me a while back with a customer's car. .when u installed the intake did you touch the throttle flap at all? say to clean any dirt?. .if your touch the throttle flap with out disconnecting the throttle body plug. .you'll throw off the settings and then you'll have to get it reprogrammed from the dealer. .
if you were sucking any air from the manifold/plenum. .you'd probably get a check engine light for bank1/2 rich or lean condition. .
check for AIR/VACUUM leaks all through the intake. .after the AIR MASS SENSOR. .cause b4 it doesn't matter. .air has to pass through it to be sensed. .perhaps you have a leak from the alittle hose MANIFOLD to the AIR intake!!

That rough idle is coming from that intake.

My brother has a AEM CAI intake on his RX8 and he has a rough idle also. It started happening after he installed the intake. The rest of his car is completely stock.

He took it out and washed it properly and it still has the problem.
