doesn't that require you to actually have a pipe that will extend 8 inches?

no welding required.... all clamped together with a very well designed clamp system.

Will the exhaust system be absolete when a turbo is installed later on? I want to eventually put on some turbos in the car, and I dont want to get any mod right now that will be replaced with a turbo, for example CAI. so is this exhaust system something that will be replaced with a turbo setup?
I had wondered that myself, but here is my philosophy... even if you have to replace the exhaust again (and you will have to remove the CAI), there will be someone out there that cannot afford to buy a turbo or SC set up. I expect as long as you don't abuse/ruin the parts you are taking off, you can probably sell them to those that want to mod their car but can't afford the turbo kit.

You won't get as much out as you have in those parts, but you'll get to enjoy them until you make your bigger mods later.

Question Ease of borla installation

Sounds easy to install, but how easy is it to remove the stock exhaust?

took me about 10 minutes to remove the stock exhaust.... VERY easy. Just a few 14mm nuts hold it together.
