Killer Turbo Setup! AMAZING **PICS**
Check out what's being in the works by Jotech...
2 garrett gt28 bb turbos, custom stainless manifolds, tial wastegates, xs intercooler, and a motec m800.
"it's getting a motec M800 with a conversion harness so it'll plug into the factory wire harness and it'll even control the drive by wire t/b. This also includes injectors, fuel pump, full 3" stainless exhaust, etc." -Tony

But seriously, Larry, Curly & Moe aside, that is some impressive hardware. Where did you get those beautiful pics? Were you there? That looks like some very serious pocket right there. Are they doing some internal engine mods to handle those big turbo's? Nice plumbing!!

Hey guys,
I was considering one of these custom setups, but my question was about the electronics, tuning, etc. It seems like these large companies like Greddy, PE, Top secret, etc. go through months of testing, changing parts, tuning. With a custom setup like this how is it possible to get everything right? If it was that easy wouldn't the turbo kits already be on the market? From what I have read it seems the mechanical part of adding the turbos isn't anything new, but getting everything to run smoothly and work the all the electronics in the car is a much more involved process. Can anyone explain this? Also what I concluded was that it was better to wait a couple months install an aftermarket kit and then add parts, increase boost etc, rather than go complete custom. what do you think?
Thanks.

A turbo kit isn't really something special or new... I truely believe with custom kits you can get better results. I had a custom kit on my car before, all you need is the proper guy to tune your car. This car here is using motec800, once the car is tuned its basically a walk in the park. I can't wait till AEM comes out with their EMS (Engine Management System) for the Nissan 350z. But to each their own. Nothing really to be afraid of boys and girls

Tuning.... Tuning.... Tuning
OK, you get the point. Like Marcus said if you got the $, anything is possible. Most people don't want to spend $1000's to dyno tune a car and set up the correct fuel and timing maps, but it is possible with a good tuner. Good tuners are hard to come by and they are not cheap. If done correctly, custom is the way to go. Just think, do you ever see any of the big time racers using an off the shelf turbo? Nope, all custom, because they have the green and the expertise, and that is what it takes.

Dude unless you have a crazy *** race setup, I never heard of anyone paying 1,000 to Dyno tune a street car specially from a "GOOD TUNER". If your good, it shouldn't take but a few hours at the most. I got my car tuned from Harvs Performance (The guy who tune www.venom-racing.com cars and he charged me $300.00 for 2 HOURS! The car was PERFECTLY tune perfect A/f Ratio and all.. Now than if your suck as tunning than you can spend a pretty penny and that's where it gets expensive. The way I see it is anyone who gets in the heavy modifcation range MONEY isn't in an issue... And like I always tell everyone, if you decided to take this route you better have funds or else get out! Cause it isn't cheap. Stick to your intake header and exhaust combo and be happy reliable. Anyhow dont mean to stir things up just giving my .02 cents.
Custom setups are great if you are a serious racer with your own shop and you have all day to screw with it. It takes so much tuning to get it right (along with broke parts) it isn't a very good idea for some guy off the street unless you have lots of $$$, time, and don't care about the condition of the car or reliability as long as it's fast.
IMO, if you're an individual who want to turbo a car that isn't turbo from the factory you should just stick with the kits that are bolt on and have been tested extensively.
