Simple auto transmission drain and fill question
I searched but came up short since most posts on here seem to be about manual transmissions.. I have a 2003 Z with automatic transmission and I wanted to do a simple drain and refill of the tranny fluid... I will be running OEM fluid but wanted to know if the process is as simple as draining at the drain plug until empty and then refilling at the charge pipe in the engine bay? If so how much fluid do I need to purchase to refill? Any info is always appreciated...

Usually only 3-4 quarts of 10 drains out as most is in TC , lines, and pump, accumulators. Much better than doing nothing!
Measure what drains and refill with extact new amount.
Do this every year 12k and you will eventually get to 80% exchanged [mixing].
The trick is to use a WHITE paper towel and compare used [dip stick] to new and look for desaturation in color as the red dye is temperature sensitive and shows the effect of cumlative heatings.............long before the brown/oxidized clutch/friction materials starts to turn ATF brownish.
