however, it is factual to say the more you keep flooring it.
the better the computer learns it.
i find this true because a buddy of mine whom has a non-rev-up
got it tuned with orisis and saw almost 5whp out of his tune.
why? only 5 when there was shown 15 plus dyno pulls of change.
i believe it is because of the computer that is in our cars
it does alota learning in the NA bolt-on phase.
so stop saying its imposible and go out and drive the hell out of your car more.. but do it safely please.
show of hands how many people on this thread floor there car everytime they get in it. or most of the time anyway?

I have 17" wheels that I think weigh less.
The other Z was running conventional oil.
I run Synthetic.
The other Z has the drop-in filter 24/7.
I only use mine at the track so it was pretty much new. (clean)
And, I think, the biggest factor...
We were both running our cars hard on the "test & tune" track that day but he was new to the sport (autocrossing) and I was/am not affraid to stay deep in the tach.
Our dyno pulls were back to back. Same day. Same dyno. There was a difference in the power our two cars were putting to the ground that day. What ever the reason, I don't see any way around that fact. (unless the dyno suddenly became uncalibrated in the few minutes it took us to pull his car off and strap mine down. But it seemed accurate with the other cars that pulled that day after mine, so I doubt it.)
BTW: I know some areas of the country only have 91 octane, but here in SW florida 93 octane is the norm and I only run Shell gas. ( He runs "premium" but I never asked what brand. ( I don't think it would make that big a difference since, down here, almost all premium is 93 octane)

I have read through a few of these... To inform everyone the dyno is legit and the car is aswell. We did 86 pulls that day and made 261whp and 251ft/lbs. I am dynoing the car tomorrow aswell so I will take a video to show.
Just got the dyno sheet straight from the tuner.
Just got the dyno sheet straight from the tuner.
If that dyno = a stock '03 350Z, then the explanation could only be one of 2 things...
The 350Z is NOT stock
or
The dyno is NOT accurate.
However, I suppose you will come back tomorrow, claiming 300rwhp after 300 pulls...

They guy's car is legit as it is stock. And the dyno he is on is legit as well, not sure it it is accurate or not. He does live by the coast which a member above said it might effect numbers..but i'm not sure if that is correct for not.

Regardless, something does not equate here.

And if the OP actually believes that vehicle's dyno results are an accurate reflection of the power output, then he is extremely naive.

This thread is starting to get really deep.

The shop is not open yet.. We did 80+ pulls to test everything from indoor exhaust system to the computer. Everything is legit and we have had other cars on the dyno before which gave realistic numbers. I have had a number of 350zs and know these results are high. Although I do not think 246whp is that incredible. So we gained 15whp from repetetive runs. I know that NA cars love heating up so I dont think the numbers obtained are that far off. I bought this car about 2 weeks ago from a member on this forum who said the only mods he had were audio and popcharger. Today we put the Haltec in and the ECU was stock. No reflash no nothing. I do agree these numbers are odd but they were consistent and we have had many other cars dyno in normal areas. The car is strong but I can not tell because I have never owned a non-FI Z for more than a month. I will keep you updated if I find something.
