Default CEL(Frown)

fyi, i've had a groundin kit on for over a month, an intake on for like 3 weeks, and a pulley on for one. yesterday, after about an hour of bein in the car, mostly parkin lots while runnin, my cel came on. first time ever. it stayed on the rest of the day, too. i thought it might b just a reminder to check the oil, since i have around 3500 miles on it right now. unfortunately, i guess, it went off. on my way to work today, no cel. now i'm worried about what the hell it was on for. so what'd u guys think of all this? thanks.

Check engine light usually means something happened concerning the MAF sensor.....might have happened during the CAI install(a fingerprint is enough to damage MAF sensor), or it could possibly be excessive oil on the CAI filter has gotten onto the MAF.......in any case, i'm really surprised to hear that it went away

well, the other thing i'm noticin is a little rattle or scratch when i pull out at low rpm's. i'm thinkin this could b my maf tappin against my engine and/or frame or possibly 1st scratchin. i'm hopefully goin to attempt and reposition my maf today. it's sittin in there at an angle, and i'm thinkin of tryin and puttin it in there more squarely. i tried some paddin on the corners that were touchin, but i can still make it tap manually. mayb durin lunch i can get in there and move it around. thanks, for your reply.

Hey EJ- could the knock sensor be causing the CEL? Did Max get the CEL when he installed his pullies?

Could have been your gas cap. Did you put gas in right before it went off?

well, i repositioned the maf to the best of my abilities, and took her for a lap around my area. it was drizzlin, so it was kinda hard to hear. i don't think i have the rattle/scratch anymore though. i was tryin to pull out with rpm's as low as possible for maximum vibration, and i don't think i heard anything. i did see where my paddin wore. the aem adapter was scratched pretty bad. i did not see the cel at all today either. i disconnected my battery while i had the thing torn apart, and i noticed that power was up on my run thereafter. that damn ecu has to b doin something. i guess i'll let the dealer know about the cel when i take it in for oil. later, guys.

Nah, he never got a CEL from the pullies......he was getting knock retard.....but that was from the Zex spark plugs.....the different electrode metal, and the 3-pronged ground electrodes were confusing the ECM, and sending it into "safety mode"
