Real Borla Dynos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is the deal. Got a baseline dyno done on a Dynojet here in San Diego. Car had about 5300 miles then. Get the borla exhaust put on and dyno on the same dyno. Car had 5600 miles on second dyno run with borla. Did two consecutive runs on each day. Borla had slight gains but IMO is well within the band of error you can have between runs. So my personal conclusion is that I didn't gain or lose power with the borla. I also suspect that the ECU had something to do with it because on first install the car did feel noticeably faster but now my car feels as fast as stock.
One thing for sure though is that the borla sounds great and is lighter than stock. So I'm not selling cause I truely believe its an ECU thing. One other thing to mention is that my car is a freak and has pulled baseline bone stock dynos of 249hp(Stillen dyno) and even on this different(Autotech) dyno I pulled a 243hp bone stock. Those are on the very high side of baseline dynos. Also all the numbers are SAE corrected.
Okay on with the dyno sheets:
Baseline runs
Borla runs
Highest Borla and highest baseline together
In the end I'm not too upset about my results cause on that same day I also got my rims and now my car now looks like this!!!

I was there with import during the group install. This is the dual. I actually have to agree w/ import that when the car first got the exhaust, it had some serious kick to it. Mental maybe? Dunno, but the car seems to have mellowed out to its previous self.
I was also there with import and ganz and have the same feeling. Still, I'm damn happy with the sound and the look.
Of course, my power seemed to disappear as soon as I went from the 101 to the 405.
Four freaking hours to get home!
Are we not doing something that Borla did to get their 20+ increase? Or that webcarconnection did to get his 24+ increase? Maybe Borla dyno'd right after the install and the ECU hadn't had a chance to adjust?
All these questions and I have absolutely no clue as to the answers.

but it sounds like he dyno'd right after the install, so the ECU shouldnt have had time to adjust, or did he drive it around for awhile? a hot engine can rob alot of power, were the conditiosn the same at both times of the day? ie.........65 degrees in the morning and low humidty, and then 90 degrees and humid as hell during the day.
For borla to TRULY get a baseline, you need an A/C'd constant environment. Weather and temp affect the #'s too much

Finally...some REAL unbiased result from the borla dual system!!! Good or bad this is the post i've (most ppl) been waiting for. How are ppl gonna defend borla's advertised 20+hp gain now?
ohh...btw...thanks for the info...now it makes my purchasing decision easier.

It looks like from his post that there were about 300 miles put on after the install. I know he put on at least 140, since it was that far from the shop in Canoga Park back to San Diego.
Baseline dyno on Friday, second dyno on Tuesday, looking at the date/time stamp on the sheets.

Holy F*****g S**t...a legit dyno comparison...finally...thank you! I need a cigarette.
Sorry it didn't make power for you. I found the 20whp hard to swallow...that would even be a lot on most factory turbo cars...I guess it's just more manufacturer BS. Based on the Borla hysteria that swept this board and others, I'm assuming they've already sold enough of these exhausts to cover development costs.
Ah well...time to start looking for the next holy grail.
At least it sounds/looks good and you dropped some weight.
Those rims are really sweet. They give the Z a very Porsche 911 style look...similar to all the Fikse wheels those guys run at the track (road courses, not drag strips). I was considering something in that style, but decided I wanted something easier to clean! I hope it doesn't rain much in your area!

OK, OK, OK........Tomorrow I am doing baseline dyno and then installing the Borla duel. I was going to drive it a little and then get back to the dyno in the same day. But now i will dyno precisely after the Borla, don't have to drive anywhere, and see where it is. If i can possibly get back to the dyno sometime thereafter when/if the ECU steals back any gained HP i will do so. I don't know what to believe as far as this ECU mod learning theory goes. But it is time to find out. By the way the dyno I will be using is a very conservative dyno. So the baseline should be lower than what you would expect, but no matter. Wheel Dyno's are only good for camparison and not for actual/true WHP.
seems like he lost 3.5ft-lb of torque when compare best base run and borla run..
anyway, I still believe this is the exhaust for me, since it has 3 things..
(1) best price
(2) true dual exhaust
(3) lesser weight than factory
*bonus* sounds better than factory (which I think it's hard to do!)
mine should be here tomorrow, and I know I'm gonna enjoy it!

The reason the Borla dyno is so low is because he forgot to fill up with the high octane gas he's been using on all his other baseline pulls. C'mon import give it up you can tell us your secret
Those rims look f*ckin' bad *** on your car!!!
