Default Plenum Spacer Info, Help a kid out here

I am seriously looking into getting a 5/16th plenum spacer and have a few questions that i cannot find answers to online

1. Is the gain noticeable?
2. Is it worth it?
3. rate the ease of install 1 = easy to 10 = hard
4. websites claim 9-11 hp, is this general HP or is it high rev like intakes?

thanks for any info you guys have

Powerlab, Motordyne, AAM. I would do powerlab, best price for the product.

Isn't this like the 8th spacer thread in like 2 days???

I personally have the Motordyne 5/16th. Could not have been happier with the product, and Hydrazine is a great vendor to deal with.
Best customer service I have ever experienced.
1. Yes
2. Very much so
3. 2
4. Not sure but an independant dyno showed substantial gains for the MD spacer

1. yes
2. you will feel better about the money spent on this then any other bolt on performance mod.
3. i would give it a 4 out of 10. You'll need an inch lb torque wrench.
4. You will see a minimal of 5hp to the wheels. 9-11hp, possibly on a cold day. 5 hp to the wheels is 9hp to the crank.

Before my MD 5/16 spacer was installed, my G35 ran rough as it approached redline. It did not like to rev high at all. Now that the spacer is on there, it's a new car. It pulls harder everywhere, especially at higher rpms. It will pull all the way to redline as smooth as can be. I'd say the most noticeable gain was the performance between 5000 and 6500 rpms.

Make sure you install it when the engine is COLD. You will be less likely to strip out the threads on your aluminum block when it is stone cold... like overnight cold. And yes, use a torque wrench that reads in inch-pounds, so you do not over-tighten the bolts going back in.

After having taking the plenum off and on so many times, I don't use a wrench anymore. Just tighten using one hand with no lever arm distance and it's about the same as 60-70 in-lbs. Just tighten firmly with one hand. You'll be hard pressed to break a bolt with one hand unless you're popeye. You just need enough to prevent a leak... (and if you have a leak, it's probably because something is not sitting flush, not because of bolt torque).

I have a question also. Please don't flame me, i'm a newbie. Would it work if I have an upper plenum and a spacer? Would it be the best way to go? Does it work that way? If not, then which way is the best way to go? Plenum or Spacer? As you can see, I am very confused.

Depends, What expectations do you want from the Car! I my self Have Pure Inovations Plenum, I didnt have to pay For A Name, No offense to anyone... The spacer Is a piece of Metal that Rises The Plenum.. The Taller, The Higher band Horse power...5/16 Was good for me Just to tweak the engine enough to get power from it...There are some nice Plenums out there..Do some digging..(search)

Welcome, Anything to give back to the community!

You can also search for Lower Plenums, I believe those can help as well!
