Oil Change Interval
I have a 2007 roadster. I bought it about 6 months ago. Had oil change at 1500 miles. It currently sits a lot due to the weather. Have appx 4000 miles on now. What would be a good interval to change the oil?

In my Nissan Owner Manual, it recommends oil changes after 3,325 miles.
When I bought my 07, I changed out the factory oil at 1,500 miles, and put in Castrol Syntec 5w-30 with a M1 oil filter. I changed it again at 5,000 with the same stuff. I guess I change my oil about every 4,000 miles.
So far at 7,000 miles, it's running like a champ.

i wouldn't let it sit much longer than 6 months regardless of the miles. Synthetic oil is pretty good about it, but regular convential oil break downs and seperates which is bad news. When you do switch it next time, put synthetic in there to prolong the period of time it can sit in the engine.

Dino oil does not 'break down' just sitting there. I change my oil based on mileage. When it's parked for 3 months, especially inside the heated garage, that counts as zero miles. Follow the owner's manual, and you can't go wrong. Also, document all the oil changes for warranty purposes. You can probably go significantly further with synthetic and a good oil filter, and you can read up on that - just about everywhere on the internet.
