Default Pulse plugs = 5.2 whp !?

Reading up on an issue of D-sport. theyre testing these new pulstars. Showed 3 hp on a B18, 6 whp on a 4G63 and 5.4 whp with a peak of 10 whp at 5200 RPM on a VQ35 out of an 04' G coupe! THAT wowed me, HOWEVER, the G had 56,000 miles. Someone that knows alot about the car....would a BONE STOCK G-coupe with 56000 miles benefit from these plugs so much because of the mileage?

When I hit 20k miles, I may consider these, actually. I've heard nothing but good things, so far.

We do have another thread about them. If you search it, you should find it. A guy named GabesZ has been running them with no problems for many months now. And reading the website makes it incredibly tempting.

At $25 a piece, I'll stick with $6 iridiums.

I believe stock plugs are platinums, not iridium. Iridium plugs should give better performance than platinums.

But hey try em out and let us all know if its worth it.

$25 a plug, that's outrageous Besides, copper plugs offer the best spark and are the cheapest.

copper plugs offer the best spark eh?....lol

iridium, platinum, pulse...all just inferior to copper plugs....sigh.

but yeah the stock plugs are NGK laser platinums. there any dynos backing up iridiums providing superior performance like these pulse plugs?

We don't need another thread on Pulstars. All these questions, and more, are answered in the other thread.

Ummm....copper is a better conductor. The downside is you have to replace them every 20-30K.

yeap...copper is a better conductor....but it doesnt generate a better spark..at all.

but yeah do the Denso Iridiums produce similar power? id like to see NGK's iridium plugs versus the stock platinums...

better conducting doesnt produce better spark. same reason that race teams used to leave the wire just a little off the plug. thats not good conducting

copper plugs do produce a better spark.. most of us who ran Nitrous like 10 years ago know about this.. you just have to replace them quicker.. but for the best performance.. nothing beats copper

most people who run nitrous now know about it too. its so the spark doesnt get blown out. more current, weaker spark through a copper plug

regardless....for those of us who use the car for what its designed for, not drag racing ^^, id like to see what the power difference is between iridium and pulse plugs...

The difference in electrical conductivity of the various spark plug materials is kind of a moot point for that small of an amount of copper, platinum or iridium, especially when considering theres a giant gap right next to it thats equal to tens of mega-ohms in series with it.

You should look a little harder. Numerous accounts of folks installing these plugs and getting less than desired results.

How about they take a bone stock zero mile car and do a dyno with stock plugs and then with the pulse plugs.

Doing a dyno run on a 50K mile G with I'm guess original plugs and then swaping them out for brand new plugs kind of gives a miss leading HP gain.

It's like replacing a really dirty OEM filter with a new OEM filter with a different name that has a special sticker on the side that says "now with more power!"

Maybe that was touched on in the other thread...
