Auto Transmission not downshifting, giving codes P0442, P0456 and P1767.. Help
I was driving along today and all of a sudden my car started shifting extremely hard, then it stopped, then it shifted hard again and the check engine light came on... i came to a redlight and when i took off it was still in like 3rd gear!! next redlight same thing, it would not downshift from 3rd gear so i was taking off like a slow boat... when i arrived at my destination, i turned the car off and waited like 20 minutes then turned just the key on and the A/T light flashed about 5 times... I turned the car off again and returned the key and A/T light was not flashing, then i started the car and it seemed to be back to normal.... it was shifting through all gears again... i took it to autozone and they gave me codes P0442, P0456, and P1767... has anybody experienced this before?
Edit: I looked up the codes and P0442 and P0456 seem to be related to the fuel cap so i checked it and it was loose, i retightened and will try resetting the light once it stops pouring rain here... my main concern however is the tranny, this was strange that it would not downshift and i cannot find any mention of code P1767... the autozone paper describes P1767 as "High and Low reverse clutch solenoid valve" and wondering if it is serious enough to take to the dealer or try to fix it myself (if its even possible) car is a 2003 with 48,000 miles Automatic Transmission

cant check it right now since it is raining pretty hard... warranty manual says 60 months/60k miles on powertrain coverage... would my car fall under warranty since it is a 2003 with 48K?

P0442 and P0456 have to do with your EVAP control system. Could be anything from a loose gas cap to a leaking fuel vapor hoses.
Can't find the code P 1767....are you sure thats a right code.

update: checked the fluid, its clean as a whistle, clean red color with no signs of metal after 3 dip checks... i also got to thinking, the P1767 code definition is "high and low reverse clutch solenoid valve" and since they are located on the valve body and nissan may try to rape me would i just be able to do the stillen valve body upgrade since dont they replace the solenoids and bore out the valves more?

Try going to dealer and having them change Tranny filter and tranny fluid. Then go drive it around for an hour, let it cool, then drive it a bit more.
I say take it to dealer because many people have problems after they incorrectly install a tranny filter ( ive seen em fall out becuase not properly seated, and even old bushing off the filter neck jammed up inside). Also gotta use nissans special fluid of course.
But you may just have one of those lil bearings gunked up and maybe a fluid and filter change can thin it back out.
