Exclamation Clutch / Starting Car

when i went to start the car it wouldnt start, and i had to pump the clutch hard to the floor a few times for it to catch and it finally started.. this started happening earlier this week, and now its all the time you have too pump the clutch hard to the floor for the car to catch and start. Yesterday is started twice without having to pump the clutch hard to the floor) it was normal for 2 times, then back to the problem .. WTF? is my clutch going? When the car does start, everything is fiine/normal.. its just starting it thats the pains in the ****... might my clutch engagement point slipped a lil or have anything to do with it?

Sounds more like your starter is on it's way out.

its not ur clutch engagement point that starts the car, there is a microswitch on the floor that the clutch depresses in order to allow the car's starter to activate, that way you cant turn the car over in gear. that microswitch may be the problem or the starter as stated before. be sure you dont damage the microswitch by pounding the clutch to the floor

The clutch engagement switch, as stated above, is either defective or it needs adjustment/proper mounting.

Look at switch while pushing down on clutch. Is there anything loose or misaligned? Observe whether the pedal actuates the micro-switch. If you're not mechanically inclined, get a gf that is, or take it to a mechanic.

Ok. i just went down stairs to try again .the car started normal 3 times.. then the 4th/5th time it took a few pumps to start.. then i pushed the pedal all the way down and let it pop back on its own, i then pressed it down normal pressure and the car started up normal. I did this like 8 times and the car started normal every time.... so it seems that letting it pop back is fixing something and then it starts normal. i know this isnt a fix, but pressing it down and letting it come back on its own pressure and then starting the car is working.... maybe its doing something to the clutch switch.. weird... . i dont wanna have to do that all the time though..

sounds like the switch is getting stuck and when you let the clutch pop back into place it popped the switch back out
