i think all the z's come with the same clutch. Im not positive but i think its a exedy clutch. I think i remember searching for stock clutches and finding exedy brand clutches. 2003 touring 80k miles original clutch still feels perfect and i dont baby it

Hmm, Mine's at 61k and it slips every once in a while when cold. Plan on changing it out for a JWT Clutch/Flywheel.
JWT Clutch <--- Pretty much a rebadged clutch

If you plan on getting a new clutch, invest a little more and get a flywheel along with it. IMO, don't bother getting a stock clutch.

If you look around the Drivetrain forum, you'll see why everyone hates the stock clutch. If you don't race, a Stage 2 prob isn't worth it. A simple Stage 1 or equivalent will be adequate for you.

Well ---Its just damn cheaper to go with Aftermarket and a whole lot better ---I re-clutch Ford Power-Strokes and they run the same design---I throw them in the trash can too

i have no problem with my stock clutch on my 03. I wouldnt need anything more i dont track my car but i drag occasionaly in Dpa or Brooklyn. I drove my freinds 06 and his clutch did suck. My clutch has more miles on it but mostly highway felt 3x better stiffer and more bite then his.

I was surprised to find out that exedy makes a lot of stock clutches.

If you'll have to pay to have yours resurfaced, why not trade the stock 30+ lbs flywheel for a 10-20lbs flywheel that performs a bit better?
If money is an issue, resurface the oem flywheel and pair it up with an aftermarket clutch.
If you want to spend some money, flywheel/clutch combo is nice.

i hear you on this. A friend of mine has an 04 (i have an 03) his clutch seems to be half the size of my clutch with half the stiffness, i think it even made it harder to drive or im just too used to my own clutch haha
