I am not sure what people expecting from an NA tune. IMHO, anything above 15whp from NA tuning (not counting the effects from the mods alone) is exceptional. Most straight NA tunes produce about 10-15whp. Now, if you include the gains acheived from the bolt on mods, AND tuning...it more like 40-45whp improvement.
But you have to seperate the tuning gains, from the NA bolt on gains. We also use the best pre-tune run, and best post-tune run. Some people or shop owners will compare the worst baseline, to the best post-tune, and this makes the net gains appear much higher.
Find an honest shop, and a good tuner, and you will be happy with the results. When people call and ask me how much to expect from tuning alone...I tell them the same thing...10-15whp.

i put down exactly 268/263. sorry i guesstimated 270/265 (OOPS 2whp off, sue me). so use your google button(ie google word like; baby_ruiner, red star performance....). im not going to take away from this thread. i gained 28whp and 28tq from tuning(baseline was was 240/235 with mods untuned). i have yet to get tuned on my new setup but it is similar to dude buddy's bc im awaiting dyno time at red star.

How the hell is he supposed to google it. I suppose he can just look for a dynograph with 268whp and 263wtq
Agreed with Sharif... most NA tunes seem to be around 10-15whp.

I gained 17 rwhp with tuning just A/F and timing. Couldn't make anymore power even by adding more timing on 109 octane.

Might be nice to try a DJ to DD comparo.
I found the thread, but there is only 1 dyno chart posted that I see and it's not the one I was interested in seeing...oh well, not worth spending an afternoon looking for. If you find it again, would love to see it, so post it up

With only a 7whp gain i thought i strange, took it to red star, pulled up the map and found they jacked a map off another z. Eli at red star corrected my AFR and the car put down high 260 pulls multiple times. thats all i feel like going into bc im headed to the gym but if you go on another z tech forum youll find the dynos and my blog.

BTW rbfd - you going to ZDays? Would be good to go for some comparison runs between your car, _jb and mine so you guys can see what you're missing
Maybe while the FI guys do their airport thing

You can't provide a link to your own dyno sheet?Who does have the time? Sharif? Hell no, but he offered to do it - and free!

the grass is always greener someplace...we could go to the Ferrari meet and then all be jealous lololI've already run both TN and Vortech cars on stock blocks...I'm not missing anything. To run with the big boys, all I'd need to do is bring my old school Z
