Default Transmission not shifting, please help

I took my g35 in to the dealer yesterday because when it is cold (engine temp) it will not easily shift into second gear. It needs excessive force. Is this a clutch issue or a synchro issue? They want to charge $135 for diagnostics, if you guys think its clutch I will pick the car up and have my own mechanic check it out. I just figured it was something that needed to be fixed and since its still under warranty I'd let them do it. This issue seems to only affect second gear, it could be from 1-2 or 3-2 shifts/down shifts.

Thanks

Is it still under warranty? Does the car have a ton of mods that the dealer will ***** about? If the answer is 1)yes and 2) no then take it to another dealer they shouldn't charge you unless it is not a warranty item.

probably a synchro, if it was the clutch, you'd have more problems.

Have you driven the car hard? Do you do a lot of double clutching into 2nd?

It could also be (If I remember correctly its called) shift fork.

My G is lowered, has the intake pipe from a 350z and HKS muffler. Thats pretty much it. Nothing really for them to ***** about.

I drive the car to the ground and do double clutch into all gears when down shifting except 1st. But the car shifts fine between all other gears, its just 2nd thats tough when cold. Otherwise the transmission has the normal crappy nissan feel to it.
