My 5AT did that once... went WOT in first gear, and it wouldn't upshift. I even switched it back to auto and it still wouldnt shift. Luckly the speed limit on the road was 35 and first will take you up to almost 40, so I pulled off the side of the road at some point, tried putting it in park, and then I think it started working normally again.

Bouncing off the rev limiter shouldnt hurt anything, shouldnt hurt the trans either as far as I know. Don't see why it would. Although I know I killed a fuel pump this way on my old 88 VW Fox, but that was a raw fuel-cut... I think the rev limiter on the Z works another way.

Either way not a big deal, probably just a computer error. If it keeps doing it, then you got a problem.

If you have a 05 or newer you have a soft limiter, which means the ecu will cut fuel and pull timing before you bounce it off the rev limiter.

Bouncing off the limiter is not a good idea, especially when you're FI
