You're sure about that?

I've read that the ECU restricts performance somewhat during the break-in period. I would assume this means using slightly difference performance curves for the break-in. I mean if you're letting the seals set, getting the metal flakes out of the engine, etc., aren't you going to want to run the engine a little less "hot"? After all, you're told to not rev the engine over a certain RPM range (what was it, 2500?) until the break-in period is over, so obviously it's expected that the driver will drive the engine differently. Which doesn't make it all that unbelievable that the ECU would also run the engine differently.

Of course, I have no proof either way -- I just read about it from someone here, and nobody has provided proof either way.

The Z Does Free up more Hp with more Miles(that has been Dyno tested and proven) But this will not Erase Everything from the ECM Just Some Data, like error Codes

The Timing is Very Important. It has to be right on, or it will not Work. It is best to use a watch or some other Time keeping Device. just Counting or Estimating will not work. I think it took me 5-7 times to get it right the First time

You'll need to leave it unplugged for 24 hours, or so says the service manual.

24hrs, thats a lot, I have read that people have unlplugged it, then pushed their brake like 5-10times, then plugged the bat. back in. And their car run a lot better after they "reset their ECU". I didn't know it was for 24hrs?

He is correct. That is what the shop manual says, 24 hours.
