My Nismo catback has arrived at the dealer...I went to look at and it looks awesome ....it's stainless steel with the Nismo stamp on the back.....I have an appointment to have it installed this thursday morning....I can't wait.....neither can everyone at the service dept....I'm the 1st to get one.....anyone else have one and if so what is your opinion....BTW it's a type S mod. so it won't void any warranty....will post pics thursday afternoon...

I thought that the type S stuff is only designed to be covered under the Nissan Parts Warranty, not to avoid voiding the factory warranty since the Dealer cannot do that unless they can prove the aftermarket part caused the OEM failure. Congrats none the less. BTW, we expects pics.

So far I've seen at least two other people post impressions of the NISMO exhaust on this forum. Mine arrived at the dealership on Friday and I had it installed this morning. Can't give complete impressions yet since the traffic today didn't allow me to open it up. Also, it's been my experience that the sound changes after the first few hundred miles driving. What I did notice so far is this:
- Build quality looks excellent as you said
- It's louder and deeper than stock when you are on the throttle, but sounds about the same at idle and when cruising (should be good for long trips).
- The tone starts out very smooth then turns into a rip when you pass a certain point in the RPM range using mildly aggressive throttle action.

Does anyone know what the HP/TQ gain would be for the NISMO cat back vs stock? Also does it totally replace the third cat at the Y?

How come it takes so much time? With it up on a lift I cant imagine it taking more then 15-20 minutes max to remove and replace...

Here's one photo. Regarding the install, I think the dealer I used overcharged me based on what Jeff quoted. I'll have to be more careful if I use them again.

I took resonator off my stock exhaust. If i get something like nismo exhaust, do i have to put my resonator back or does aftermarket provides its own resonator? thanks fo yall's help on silly question.

The Nismo comes with its own resonator.
