Smile Some performance links for you

Still looking around your site so not sure what you have available yet, so here are a couple of links I have for some shops here specializing in the Z

http://www.webamuse.co.jp/amuse_z.html
gets 308hp with pipe and chip. Chip is called 'hi-tech rom' cost about $600. They also put alot of other performance handling and bodywork on it.

http://www.esprit.to/tuning_plan/Z33AERO.html
this is the body styling page but you can get to their tuning parts from there. 326hp with pistons, pipe, chip (F CON S)

http://www.topsecretjpn.com/Categories-engl.htm
lots of stuff here, including how to turbo it to 430hp

http://www.tommykaira.com/z/z.html
But you buy the whole car. They don't say whats done to it, just power up to 304hp

http://www.powervg.com/primaru/
380hp with turbo

Book I have has dyno charts with full sports muffler systems going to 299hp. They claim the chip (hi tech rom) is good for an extra 38hp on its own, but when paired with the sports muffler just raises it to 309hp.

If you want you can order the book with ISBN4-89107-190-7

So what you're saying is the chip alone gave more hp then with the chip plus sports muffler

I'm not saying anything, just trying to quote as best I can from the Japanese magazines about some of the tuning options. I don't read fluent Japanese so I sometimes make mistakes. I just know about my spec of car as it was the exact same standard as tested by an independant magazine.

Japanese law states that manufacturers of cars cannot advertise a higher power rating that 280hp, hence you see all Japanese high power cars maxed at 280hp. But from car magazines they do tests and give real world figures. The Z spec car over here gave an actual figure of 284hp, and with the dealer Fujitsuburo exhaust sytem that I have, it tests as 294hp - but the dealer will tell you all the sports exhaust does is sound better

BTW The Nissan Skyline GTR is advertised as 280hp stock, but independant tests give that one a nice 340hp+ in the real world.

So with just the addition of the chip they're saying they got a horsepower of 322 HP? I'm just trying to clarify what the figures are.

I guess so, with that chip. The book has over a dozen different chips available, both for z32 and z33. Some will invalidate your warrenty, others won't. Lots of exhausts systems with dyno charts too. But I don't have the book with me - I'm in hospital, so I can(t go check data and give you more links than I have. But you can use that ISBN book number, get the same book and same information.

Dealer told me only premium gas in my Z....so I dont understand your point about the need for high octane! Unless you talking about JP-5??

*confused*
