Default HKS/Axis Company Car!?

Whatever happened to James' custom turbo kit? He drives the Axis company car and has an HKS intercooler. Last I heard he was building a custom turbo kit and was using like two T3/T4's (which seems small to me), but he has not updated it for us? Also Skidazzle is building one too, and had it nearly finished when he took the pics, but nothing has been mentioned of it either? Anyone have any updates or information?

A t3/t4 is in no means a small turbo. Greddy has already mention that the final released kit will probably not have 18g turbos. The t3/t4 is almost the same size and I think the biggest might be able to flow 500hp+. A T25 ans T 28 are small turbos, but might work out great for a twin turbo setup for our car. Who knows? only time will tell. If you do a search you can find information about both the custom kits. I think one of them posted pictures.

just my 2 cents...

thanks,
Greg

It'll probably get some more press when the USCC is published.

Skidazzle took pictures and posted them. Greddy is going to use two TD05H-16G's as the final product, because on the 18G's they are having to use air intake restrictor's to keep the boost down. I think a T3/T4 turbo is pretty small considering this is what they use on most 4 cylinder applications.

That's too bad. If I remember correctly Greddy was using two type-s external wastegates. These should easily be able to flow enough to keep boost down. And if not, why not just switch to a type-r or even type-c (although c would be overkill) wastegate instead of changing the turbos and having to go through the whole R&D/tuning process again...just doesn't make sense to me. Purposefully restricting the intake is sad. The 16g's will work good too, but the 18g's really left alot of room for those who wanted to go further.
Yeah, the t3/t4 isn't a real big turbo and it is used on fours, but then if you have two of them..... They'll easily reach the 400hp mark which seems to be around what most people want, considering most don't want to change internals. T3/T4 is also offered in quite a few different trims too.

I think the company using the biggest turbo is Top Secret, theyre running a GT-30 ballbearing turbo on their kit.
