cat bypass opinions critique
whats up bro's. i have a touring with injen exaust, aem intake, and earthing kit. the car runs real strong and am pleased with its performance. headers, crawford plenum, and flywheel will be done down the line but i was thinking of getting the bypass pipes. my question is this......... they are a cheap mod but do they provide an actual perfomance boost. fi is not in my future so will the car truly run and perform in the short and long term with them or am i better putting my few hundred bucks towards other mods. also if you guys think this is a good mod can you provide me with a telephone# and contact in order to purchase them. i have everyones email info but prefer to do all ordering on the phone rather then through email. thanks. peace.
from a completely unscientific point of view, if you remove the cats on your car you're definitely going to unrestrict the exhaust flow. may cause some ECU issues, but other members on here have installed them without the CEL going off... don't know if the ECU is throwing out codes though.
don't know anyone in NY, but you can try LaBree Motorsports in California. their number is (818) 704-7950... last I heard, they were thinking about putting some downpipes together. or you can do a search on here for the pipes and there should be someone to order from.

thanks guys, i know there is at least one possibly two people from the board making or selling them and was hoping to get thier contact numbers. if anyone knows this info please let me know. peace
Why don't you do a search, find the thread and then PM them yourself. Even if I did have his information, I wouldn't pass it on to someone else. If they are going to give you their phone numbers that's for them to decide, not me.
FYI,
jamisonl@msn.com is the person you'll want to speak with. They can hook you up with some pipes to replace the cats and make it straight-through. Email them there for prices, etc...

We just installed a set of these today and dan is going to the dyno this week to see if there was any significant power found. Check out his post to find out more info. As for the supplier, we are using a fabricator in CA. He is making these pipes in mild steel, stainless, and polished stainless. You can contact jason 732-735-0516 for more info and prices. These should also be on our website soon if I ever get it working!
